How do I understand the dimensions ?
There are two distinct ways of measurement tires: the standardized dimensions and the ordinary dimensions.
- The dimensions standardized byb ETRTO are expressed in millimeters (e.g. 23-622 - QUARTZ), and correspond to the width, and inside diameter (beads) of the tire.
- The ordinary dimensions are expressed in millimeters (e.g. 700x23 - ATOM COMP) or in inches (e.g.26x2.10 - COBRA) and correspond to the outside diameter (indicative value) then to the tire width.
Hutchinson always displays the measurements using both systems.
